Summary
This role is designed to work within the Operations Team and is a key role to our business. Within this role you will be responsible for the welding assigned tasks within the Production Team. You will have a shared responsibility of ensuring the Welding equipment is operational and in good working order. As a Welder within the Team, you are to ensure the work given is completed on time and within budget. Working within an innovative signage business, you will be carrying out a high-paced, challenging, and demanding role, where the ability to work within and outside of a team is essential.
Key Responsibilities
● Day-to-day
* Establish tasks set on a daily basis and meeting deadlines.
* To review engineering drawings for parts to be fabricated/welded.
* Perform welding/plating activities.
* Fabricate sheet metal.
* Ensure tolerances and parameters are met to satisfy quality and output.
* Ensure production timings are met/exceeded.
* Use of Management system
* Follow company rules and adhere to procedures & Health and Safety standards.
* Work as part of a team to produce orders on time and within customer expectation/quality requirements.
* Ensure correct marking up of component parts.
* Support the Production Manager with Quality Checks and obtain sign off.
* Maintain work records to support the client handover.
● Health and Safety
* Carry out and record daily/weekly/monthly maintenance and safety checks.
* Liaise directly with production manager/ external engineers to solve any issues with the machines and organise engineer visits to rectify problems.
* Operate in accordance with the provided RAMs and complete Dynamic Risk assessments as and when required.
Other Responsibilities
* Work as part of the assembly team as required to support short deadlines. Essential Skills, Experience and/or Qualifications
* Experience in a similar role within the signage industry.
* The ability to read and understand manufacturing/ engineering drawings.
* Attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills
* Good time management
* Proficient in Google Applications (i.e.) Gmail, Google Drive, etc
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* The ability to work using your own initiative as well as working within a team.
* Good people skills and excellent customer service ethic
* Flexibility
* Problem solving
* Strong organisational skills
* The ability to multitask and understand how to prioritise their workload.
* Qualified welder in Mig & Tig
* Sheet metal skills
* Folding press
