A great opportunity has become available for you to take a leading role in the environmental management & planning controls of operational sites at EDF Renewables UK & Ireland.
You will travel to wind farms, service centres, battery energy storage and solar PV sites across the UK & Ireland on a regular basis.

What you’ll be doing
You will take a leading role in the management of day-to-day environmental management and planning conditions of the operational fleet :
- Engage (regular communication and training) with EDF Renewables’ operation & maintenance (O&M) team on a regular basis to ensure waste is managed and pollution risks are controlled.
- Engage with 3rd party O&M teams on a regular basis to ensure waste is managed and pollution risks are controlled-in line with contractual requirements
- Lead on environmental inspection regimes for the operational fleet
- Support wider business audits including (but not limited to) ISO standard audits
- Manage planning requirements on operational sites
- Manage engagement with members of the public with regards to the operational fleet
- Manage contractors that provide various environmental & ecological services on the fleet
- Perform environmental data collection and collation duties in line with stakeholders’ requirements
- Be willing to contribute to the wider business efforts towards sustainability on an ad-hoc basis
- Be creative and hardworking to solve any problems or issues that arise
- Develop strong relationships and represent the interests of EDF Renewables with critical stakeholders:
- Investors
- Other business unit representatives in EDF Group
- Land owners and agents associated with the operational fleet
- Critical contract partners
What do you need to be great at this role?
You'lll hold a relevant undergraduate and/or post graduate degree in town and country planning, environmental impact assessment (EIA), environmental management or similar.;
- Membership (or working towards membership) of relevant professional institute, e.g. Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment
- Knowledge of environmental regulatory requirements including waste, pollution, greenhouse gas accounting, producer responsibility, Wildlife and Countryside Act, Town and Countryside Planning, etc.
- Experience in managing contractors and suppliers
- Experience in designing auditing programmes
- Experience in environmental monitoring and measurement techniques including GHG data collection and collation
- Experience of working on energy projects, particularly onshore and offshore wind farms, in development, construction and/or operation is desirable
- Natural communication and interpersonal skills.
- Innovative, enthusiastic and self-motivated
- Ability to prioritise effectively and consistently deliver against tight time constraints while working flexibly as part of a team.
- Ability and being comfortable working in outdoor environments in variety of weather conditions
- Comfortable influencing and engaging with stakeholders
- Familiar with reactive work environment and flexibility in work location/timing of work
