Summary

The Council is seeking a skilled and highly motivated person to work within one of the key project teams within North Lanarkshire Council, Cartographic and Mapping Services.

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to support the delivery of The Plan for North Lanarkshire which is the vision to improve equality and equity, boost the local economy, transform towns and communities, enhance opportunities, improve health and wellbeing and create jobs.

Assets & Procurement (Estates) is responsible for providing a full range of property management services to the Council. This includes the acquisition, disposal, letting and strategic management of the corporate property portfolio utilising the Council’s corporate property management system.

The main duties of the post include the provision of a cartographic plan production service, providing a topographical land survey facility and carrying out land ownership/title deed investigation to manage and maintain the corporate land terrier.

It is essential that applicants hold an HNC, SVQ3 or equivalent in Land Survey / GIS / Cartography or a relevant subject. You must have familiarity with AutoCAD and extended experience in the survey/measurement of land and dealing with related data. Experience in Legal title reading and plotting and familiarity with GIS software would be desirable.

To succeed in this role, you must be a team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to plan work and meet deadlines.

You will be categorised as a Hybrid Worker, therefore your main place of work will both be your home address and the Civic Centre, Motherwell. The ability to travel throughout the area of North Lanarkshire Council is essential.

NLC9 - 17.5 hours

This position is temporary for a period of 12 months.
