Summary
I am currently recruiting for a client in North Wales who are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Gardening Team Lead to assist in the management and maintenance of nature reserves and walking trails managed by Open Spaces, and in their promotion to the public to support on the below;
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with programmes of work for the conservation management of semi-natural nature reserves, including Local Nature Reserves
- Assist with maintenance programmes for managed nature reserves, including undertaking of site safety audits
- Assist with survey and monitoring duties, and with the maintenance of related information systems
- Undertake and assist with guided walks and other events for the public and educational groups
- Assist in the development of promoted walking trails
- Assist in the development and production of interpretation material relating to the management and promotion of nature reserves and walking trails
- Implement with tact and discretion such byelaws as may apply to sites managed by the Service
- Deputise for the Countryside/Country Park/Access Wardens as required
- Work any five days out of seven days on a rota basis, and/or occasionally work outside of normal working hours if necessary
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Gardening Team Lead or similar role
- Excellent knowledge of conservation management of semi-natural nature reserves, including Local Nature Reserves
- Ability to undertake site safety audits and survey and monitoring duties
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to occasionally work outside of normal working hours
- Valid driving license
- Relevant qualification in Horticulture, Conservation, or a related field
