As our Support Worker, you’ll be at the heart of supporting our customers who have complex Mental Health needs to develop their skills to live more independently in the community. Typical day as our Support Worker

  • Assisting customers with practical, daily living tasks to develop their independence, helping them to achieve the goals, aspirations and outcomes documented in their support plans.
  • Working with a with a Mental Health Diagnosis.
  • Helping customers with daily living activities such as making meals, shopping, budgeting, maintaining their tenancy and moving onto independent accommodation if they are able.
  • Carrying out risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews.
  • Cuppas, chats and catch ups. There’s no rushing from one customer to the next here! Plenty of time to work together with colleagues too.

You bring

  • Passion to support our customers to live their best life, working together with an eye for detail
  • Experience of caring for others, you may have worked in care before or have experience of caring for others such as family members or children
  • The ability to work on your own initiative, remain calm under pressure and have a resilient approach
  • Recognise every customer is different and you’re able to adopt a flexible, personal approach, listening to customers to understand their needs
  • To get from A to B, you’ll need a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we’ll pay your mileage!

Our team

You’ll join Sophie our manager, and our Dispersed and Outreach team, we’re super passionate about what we do! Sophie can often be found planning her next trip around the world or getting stuck into DIY projects. We’re really proud of developing the service to being 1 of only 2 providers within Worcestershire who provide Mental Health Support to customers who live within their own homes. We’re a supportive bunch and like to get together socially on a regular basis.

Job details

  • You’ll join the team working on a rota basis covering the service between 8am to 6pm, including weekends. You’ll manage your own diary within this though!
  • Although you’ll lone work, we do get together regularly for training and team meetings.
  • As it’s a community-based role you’ll often be out and about in various locations such as supporting customers to attend their volunteering placements at local allotments or completing their weekly shop in Tesco. No two days are the same here!
  • You’re able to use technology to update support plans, complete online learning and to collaborate with colleagues.
  • You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
