What you'll be doing;



To provide leadership in all aspects of financial reporting and financial control for the Selchp O&M, District Heating, IBA, Greater London Disposal contract, and the joint venture at Selchp Ltd.



Strong communication, analytical and critical thinking is essential to problem solving, with the ability to prioritise, multi-task and meet deadlines whilst receptive and embracing new changes.



The role will have an Assistant Accountant and Management Accountant report, and they will be responsible for all aspects of managing these roles including setting of objectives and progress reviews.





You will be responsible for:




  • Production of monthly management accounts delivered to tight deadlines together with sound analysis and investigation of results and variances for a number of operational units including group consolidation processes
  • Site visits when required and interaction with operations to ensure accurate financial reporting and support to business development is achieved
  • Provide support to business operations in preparation for annual budgets and forecasts
  • Statutory accounts preparation and assist with annual group audit process
  • Ensure all contracts and depot(s) within the remit are complying with group financial policies and procedures, including performing regular fixed assets registers and balance sheets reviews
  • Working with clients on contract performance and adapting systems to any changes in service
  • Annual reconciliations per contractual agreement
  • Monitor and evaluate procedures to ensure financial and cash flow forecasting remains accurate/effective
  • Control and reporting of capital expenditure
  • Financial analysis of operational data and KPI
  • Stock control including accuracy of accounting
  • Post investment financial review and analysis of long term financial performance
  • Working with analysts and the Digital Transformation team to ensure accuracy of relevant non-financial data and successful implementation of any projects
  • Carry out any ad hoc project work as is necessary to support the business objectives
  • Manage and develop two direct reports including setting of objectives and progress reviews
  • Attend quarterly exco meeting and preparation of financial papers for the review
  • Attend half yearly board meeting with external shareholders, and preparation of financial papers for the review
  • Dealing with ad hoc shareholder / external consultants financial queries
  • Contract rates review and shareholders dividends calculations
  • Maintain good understanding of the different contracts and agreement in place for the joint venture






What we're looking for:


  • Qualified Accountant (i.e. CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with extensive post qualification experience gained
  • Experience withPeople Management, Financial/ Statutory Reporting, Accounting Systems
  • Solid knowledge of standard accountancy and finance best practices
  • A practical understanding of management accounting principles and techniques
  • Strong Business Acumen
  • Financial Management background
  • Relationship Management skills
