Summary

Fluent Welsh-Speaking SEN Teaching Assistant Needed in Cardiff

Teaching Personnel is currently collaborating with one of our partner primary schools in Cardiff to recruit a Fluent Welsh-speaking SEN Teaching Assistant for an immediate start. This position involves working within the school's specialist behaviour base.

Role Overview: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in building strong, trusting, and stable relationships with young people. Your consistent approach to behaviour management will be key. While this role primarily involves 1:1 support, you will also assist with small group interventions within the behaviour provision and support pupils in mainstream classes during phased integration.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience supporting challenging behaviour and young people's Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Ability to build relationships and act as a role model/behaviour buddy
- Resilient personality suited to working with pupils at risk of exclusion
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Passion for making a positive impact in young people's lives
- Access to a vehicle (desirable)
- Sensitivity to the challenges faced by young people
- Fluency in Welsh

Requirements:
- Two professional references
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one with full assistance provided)
- EWC registration (assistance provided)
