Are you intrigued by the idea of teaching but lack school experience?
Our Graduates into Teaching Pathway offers you the opportunity to gain several months of paid experience as a Teaching Assistant in schools. You'll collaborate with partner schools in Sunderland and surrounding areas, receiving training both before starting and throughout your role. This unique experience allows you to observe excellent teaching practices, explore the reality of working as a Teacher, all while earning a salary.
Benefits:
- At least 3 months to one year of paid experience as a Teaching Assistant in schools
- Continuous free training and support, including an accredited level 2 qualification

Role:
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant on our Graduates into Teaching Pathway, you'll support pupils in groups and on a 1:1 basis. Positions range from short to long term in our partner Secondary, SEN, and Primary schools. Our team will provide mentoring and coaching to help you develop your skillset as you train, and we'll match you with schools near your location for placement.
Requirements:
- Hold a degree in any subject
- Hold/Predicted a degree with a 2.2 or above
- GCSEs in Maths and English (minimum grade 4 or C)
Person Specification:
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment
- Organised and efficient
- Passion for working with young people and interest in Secondary school education
Additional Requirements:
- Provide contact details for two referees
- Obtain a DBS form or be prepared to obtain one
