Summary

Weston College is the regional provider for the Prison Education Framework (PEF) across the South West of England and is now seeking to recruit an outstanding and highly motivated Assistant Curriculum Manager – HMP Leyhill.

This is a contract role covering Maternity Leave, working full time, for 37 hours per week.

Day to day duties of the role

Effective leadership, motivation and delegated line management of the teaching or administration team.
Assisting with the recruitment, scheduling and utilisation of staff whilst assuring the quality of their work.
Positively contributing to the effective monitoring and delivery of all targets.
Effective management of performance, grievances, disciplinary and absence management processes.

Required skills and qualifications

A degree of professional qualification relevant to the work
A teaching qualification – Level 4 or above
Excellent computer literacy skills including an up to date knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Highly motivated and setting high standards for self and others.

About HMP Leyhill

HMP Leyhill is a Category D men's prison nestled in Tortworth, Gloucestershire. As an adult male prison with Category D status, Leyhill is a hub for residents deemed suitable for Open conditions. In partnership with Weston College, residents at Leyhill can engage in educational pursuits, ranging from English and math to IT. Additionally, comprehensive vocational training equips individuals with valuable skills and qualifications in wood machining, printing, laundry, retail, kitchen operations, farming, gardening, and fitness.
