Summary
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a mature male living in the Ely area of Cardiff with my wife and 2 pet’s, a dog and a cat. I have a diagnosis of Vascular Dementia and Alzhimers, due to this I am at a high risk of choking. I have a really good sense of humour and like familiar things and places. I am Ex Services and used to be in the Royal Navy with whom I have travelled lots with. My hobbies are going to the cinema, I also enjoy building models. I have an interest in historic ships and also aircraft as I used to enjoy flying. Before my diagnosis I really enjoyed walking and was in to fitness. I can easily get distracted due to diagnosis.
PURPOSE OF JOB
To ensure I am safe at all times, especially when eating and drinking as I am at high risk of choking.
To support me to safely access the community.
PLACE OF WORK
In my home and out in the community.
HOURS OF WORK
12 Hours available each week. Hours preferably to be worked between 10am to 6pm.
I would prefer for these house to be worked either 2 or 3 days a week on a Monday Wednesday and Friday either 3 x 4 hours shifts or 2 x 6 hour shifts.
Opportunity to cover annual leave and sick cover also.
RATE OF PAY
£12.80 PER HOUR.
TASKS INVOLVED
- Attend an activity of my choice.
- Ensure I am safe at all times.
- Provide companionship.
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
- Car Driver and owner essential.
- Ability to push a wheelchair.
- Easy going and reliable.
- Someone who is patient.
- Someone who doesn’t mind cats and dogs, as I have one of each.
- Someone with a good sense of humour.
- Awareness of Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
ABOUT THE JOB
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weekly. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
