Summary
The successful candidates will be part of a bank of Sessional Activity Youth Workers who will provide additional support to the Activities Coordinator during organised activities at the Young Carers Centre and within the community. The activities take place between the hours of 5:00pm to 8:00pm, during school term time. The activities during the school holidays can vary depending on the activity, they usually take place during the day.
Young Carers access the activities to give themselves a break from their caring role. It gives them the opportunity to be with friends in a safe and secure environment. We want Young Carers to have fun, experience new adventures and receive support from staff when they are struggling. For many they need to balance schoolwork with their caring responsibilities, it may be necessary for them to offload, have someone to listen to their worries and concerns and provide help and support when needed.
Activity sessions are usually on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We welcome applications from candidates who can work on single sessions or more throughout the week. A Staff Rota will be provided in advance, it does take into consideration the availability of all bank staff.
