Summary
Building Control Surveyor
Description
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Building Control Surveyor to join the employer’s dynamic team in the Housing industry. As a Building Control Surveyor, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all building projects comply with regulatory standards and local codes.
You will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of new and existing buildings, reviewing architectural plans, and providing detailed reports to clients. In addition, you will collaborate closely with other professionals, such as architects and engineers, to ensure that construction projects remain on track and adhere to safety guidelines. Your attention to detail and expertise in building regulations will be crucial to the success of our projects.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive inspections of residential and commercial buildings to ensure compliance with building regulations and codes
Review architectural plans and specifications to identify any potential issues or discrepancies
Compile detailed reports outlining any violations or areas in need of improvement
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve any compliance issues and ensure construction projects adhere to safety regulations
Provide expert advice and guidance to clients regarding building regulations and code compliance
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, regulations, and codes
Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to building control and regulatory compliance
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field
Proven experience as a Building Control Surveyor or a similar role
Extensive knowledge of building regulations, codes, and industry standards
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in industry software and technology tools
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to different work sites as needed
Hybrid working with the potential to work from home after period of time, must be able to conduct site visits.
Building Control experience (at least 2 years)
Local Authority Building Control experience preferred
Achieved or working towards BSR registration (Class 2)
Ability to carry out the full range of duties i.e. Plan checking and site inspections
Hours could be flexible and working location could be flexible (although site inspections are within Haringey)
Own Vehicle and business insurance
Potential of gaining LVL 3 experience for the right candidate
Standard DBS required
Hours Per Week: 35.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £31.91
