Summary


As the Head of Office & Senior Advisor, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across Integrated Urgent & Emergency Care (IUEC). The post holder will ensure the provision of a professional executive support function to all areas of the portfolio, ensuring that the National Director is fully briefed and prepared for all activities within their remit.

The post holder will contribute to the overall development of the IUEC Private Office team, ensuring that it operates efficiently and effectively, including advising on and progressing specific workstreams and delivering on specific time limited projects or key pieces of work. On occasions, the post holder will deputise and make decisions on behalf of the Chief of Staff. The post holder will facilitate discussions and provide advice to colleagues on a range of policy and corporate issues; define current processes, improve future processes, and oversee their delivery. Main duties include:

• Deliver an effective support service to the National Director through providing strategic advice and operational management of the directorate and its processes.

• Ensure that the directorate operates efficiently and effectively, advising on and progressing significant work streams and leading on specific time limited projects.

• Regularly travel with the National Director, accompanying them on visits and meetings.

• Act as a key conduit of communication on behalf of the team with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

• The post holder will be required to be in NHSE’s London office (Wellington House) 2 to 3 days per week.
