Summary


An opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic individual to join the team within the Renal Dialysis unit at Shrewsbury.

Our patients have Chronic Kidney failure and attend the unit 3 x a week for 4 hours dialysis. This role will include ensuring that the patients' experience is in line with the SATH trust values.

Under the direction of the Sister/Charge Nurse you will help us to ensure that we provide a clean, safe and comfortable environment for our patients' attending for dialysis treatment 3 x a week as outpatients.



You will need to possess good communication and interpersonal skills. A polite and courteous manner towards patients' will be essential for this role, together with your ability to work under pressure as part of a team, as well as organising your own workload and using initiative.

The main responsibilities of this post will be:

- Undertaking housekeeping tasks to ensure the renal unit areas and kitchen environment is clean & presentable, taking into account infection control policies and procedures.

- Manage the availability of stores and supplies for the kitchen to ensure enough food supplies for the patients. Ordering & collecting sandwiches on a daily basis from the main kitchen.

-Ensuring patients are offered a drink and sandwick / meal each session, making sure all their dietary needs are met.

- Assisting staff on the unit post each dialysis session to remove waste and clean and remake beds / dialysis spaces for next group of patients.

The unit is open Monday to Saturday for dialysis outpatients.

On the Dialysis Unit we care for patients undergoing Haemodialysis and focus on holistic care, we also promote self-care, which enables and empowers our patients.

Our aim is to provide a high quality standard of individualised care and treatment to patients with established renal failure within a safe and supportive environment by friendly, competently trained staff.
