The London Borough of Brent is situated in North-West London, with the famous Wembley Stadium at its centre. We have a vacancy based across the borough to cover both Sudbury Primary Care Centre and Willesden Centre for Health and Care.The post is Full time (7.5 hours) fixed term for one year.
We have a diverse and inclusive team of Community Nursery Nurses, Community Staff Nurses and Health Visitors who work collaboratively with the Trust Safeguarding team and all our families to support the Healthy Child Programme mandated checks. The aim of our Health Visiting multidisciplinary team is to keep our children and their families safe.
The Brent 0-19 service has an exciting opportunity for Lactation Consultant to join our Brent Infant feeding team who will work as part of the Health Visiting team to support the increase of breastfeeding rates within Brent, this role will involve working closely with mothers, parents, babies in supporting breastfeeding, mainly parents with complex feeding difficulties.

The Lactation Consultant will work in partnership with the Infant Feeding Lead and a multi professional Health Visiting team in the provision of a specialist breastfeeding clinic for breastfeeding dyads living in Brent.
Support mothers, babies and parents within the community with complex breastfeeding issues, these could be within a community clinic, home setting, etc.
The post holder will act as a resource of clinical lactation expertise and skill, providing support to women and babies with complex breastfeeding needs.
The role is integral to the 0-19 healthcare team in maintaining UNICEF.
