Summary
Senior Building Control Surveyor
Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Building Control Surveyor to join our employer’s team. As a Senior Building Control Surveyor, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with building regulations and overseeing the construction and development of properties. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with in-depth knowledge of building codes, strong project management abilities, and a passion for the real estate industry.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with building regulations
Review architectural drawings and plans to identify potential risks and ensure adherence to building codes
Provide expert advice and guidance to clients and colleagues on building control matters
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure regulatory compliance throughout the design and construction process
Keep up-to-date with changes in building regulations and industry best practices
Manage and oversee a team of building control surveyors, providing mentorship and guidance as needed
Conduct site visits and inspections to evaluate progress and quality of work, and provide feedback as necessary
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Building Control Surveying or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in building control surveying or a similar role
Extensive knowledge of building regulations, codes, and standards
Strong project management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical skills
Proficient in the use of industry-standard software and technology for building control surveying
Senior Building Control Surveyor with LABC experience, Hybrid working, but includes site inspections within Haringey, own transport required
Local Authority Building Control experience preferred
Achieved or working towards BSR registration (Class 2)
Ability to carry out the full range of duties i.e. Plan checking and site inspections
Hours could be flexible and working location could be flexible (although site inspections are within Haringey)
Transport required for site inspections
Hourly rate reflected in experience
Standard DBS required
Hours Per Week: 35.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £43.71
