About the Role:
As a Food Technology Teacher, you will be instrumental in inspiring students to explore the world of culinary arts and nutrition. You will design and deliver creative lessons that spark interest and develop practical skills in food preparation, cooking, and healthy eating. Your enthusiasm and expertise will empower students to excel in food technology. At key stage 4, you will deliver a curriculum around hospitality and catering, ensuring students have the required skills and knowledge to gain relevant qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching engaging food technology/catering/hospitality lessons to students of varying ages.
- Developing comprehensive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Educating students on nutrition, food safety, and culinary techniques.
- Evaluating student performance and providing valuable feedback.
- Organising hands-on cooking sessions in a safe and controlled environment.
- Collaborating with colleagues to enrich the overall educational experience.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in Food Technology or a related discipline.
- Experience teaching food technology at the secondary school level is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of nutrition, food safety standards, and cooking methods.
- Strong communication skills and effective classroom management abilities.
