Role: All Age Safeguarding Board / Programme Manager PART-TIME

Contract Length: Anticipated 5 months, with possibility of extension

Location: Maidenhead - 1 day per week onsite

Pay Rate: Approximately £379 per day PAYE



A Safeguarding Board Manager is required to provide strategic management of the multi-agency safeguarding arrangements for adults and children. You will advise safeguarding partners on all aspects of statutory and regulatory functions for the arrangements, including regional and national engagements.

Key accountabilities:

Manage the work of the multi-agency safeguarding arrangements across adults and children, including supporting the Executive Board and subgroups and directing the work of the Support Officer.
Manage any Serious Case Reviews/Safeguarding Adults Reviews/Domestic Homicide Reviews required, ensuring learning is identified in a timely way and shared appropriately.
Build effective and robust relationships with adult services, children's services, health, police, probation, and other key stakeholders in order to promote improved safeguarding outcomes for local people.
Facilitate an annual independent and objective assessment on effectiveness of the local safeguarding arrangements for all residents, including advising senior leaders on areas of success and/or concern and making recommendations to secure the highest standard of safeguarding practice.
Represent the borough on appropriate regional and national networks for safeguarding of adults and children when agreed by the Chairs of the Safeguarding Partnership.
Monitor and manage the partnership budget, including ensuring that Partner contributions are effectively managed and suppliers are contracted in line with appropriate policies and procedures.



Key requirements:

Operational experience of multi-agency safeguarding arrangements including knowledge of the various learning review processes
Understanding of safeguarding guidelines and legislation
Experience of multi-professional and interagency working
Ability to function with a high level of autonomy, as well as ability to work collaboratively, leading where appropriate
Ability to drive performance improvement, using appropriate quality assurance activity
Ability to produce and present clear and precise reports
Excellent communication and influencing skills with ability to build excellent working relationships with a wide range of partners to ensure a co-ordinated approach to safeguarding
Experience of managing staff
Experience in agenda setting, report writing and producing external communications.
