Temporary Joiner x2 - Construction Services

Pay rate: £15.51 per hour PAYE

Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours

This opening assignment is for 3 months

City: BARNSLEY, South Yorkshire

A works vehicle will be provided; however you may be required to make your own way to the depot initially

Basic DBS required for this role

CSCS card essential

A Joiner is required to help Construction Services with the delivery of various Joinery works across the Major Adaptations & Programmed Replacements Projects. Working as part of a wider team delivering essential repairs/replacements to social housing properties or completing major adaptation works for existing or new tenants. To provide a professional, quality of craftsmanship and customer orientated service to all internal and external customers and to organise workloads and work both within a team environment and on your own.

Key responsibilities:

Removal and renewal of kitchens (standard or adapted).
Removal and renewal of bathrooms, shower rooms and wet rooms as part of a 2 man team with a plumber.
Internal second fix joinery.
Internal first fix joinery.
Fascia, soffits and gutter work.
Garage door installations including frames.
Joinery repairs - including but not limited to floor boarding, door ease/renew, kitchen unit repairs.
Be willing to assist with helping other trades as and when required.

Qualifications:

Full UK driving licence.
CSCS card essential.
NVQ Level 2 in Joinery or equivalent qualification.
NVQ Level 3 in Joinery or equivalent qualification/or willingness to work towards gaining the qualification.
Apprentice trained in Joinery desirable.



Experience:

Previous experience of carrying out joinery work to a high standard on repairs and maintenance and refurbishment projects.
Confident in basic plumbing or have some experience in plumbing desirable.
Experience in the use of mobile and digital technology for the receiving and completing of work desirable.



Knowledge:

Knowledge of health and safety procedures in relation to Construction work.
Knowledge of building work in relation to the Construction industry.



Skills & Abilities:

Demonstrate a positive, flexible approach to both team and lone working.
Ability and experience of working at height.
Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the service, with mandatory standby on a rota basis when required.
Ability to organise personal workload and effectively prioritise tasks.
Ability to understand the needs of the customer to ensure excellent customer service.
Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.
