Employee Relations Advisor

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Employee Relations Team. This role will play an essential part in unlocking the true potential of our talented workforce.

Marston Holdings Limited is a parent company formed of eight entities that each specialise in key areas of our overarching business. In a nutshell, we are the UK's largest judicial services company and pioneers in clean air technology, offering services that support local and central government, utilities, and private sectors through the delivery of market leading integrated technology-enabled solutions from design and implementation to management and recovery.

The group currently has revenue of £326m, employs over 5,000 staff and has a network of 1,000 self-employed enforcement agents. The business operates 21 services across several trading entities, primarily in the UK.

The Position & Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be CIPD accredited, with an excellent knowledge of employment legislation and a proven track record of managing a wide variety of employee relations cases. We are looking for someone who has the ability to influence management and coach others with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to 'think outside the box'.

  • Delivering a proactive approach to employee relations cases, such as disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence management.
  • Effectively managing a wide and varied employee relations caseload.
  • Providing expert advice to management on matters relating to employment law.
  • Establishing strong working relationships with managers.
  • Supporting and coaching managers when navigating through internal procedures.
  • Collaboratively working with the wider HR team to raise the profile of the employee relations function, and deliver meaningful outcomes which reduce litigation risk.
  • Support the development of ER projects, to develop best practice and drive improvements in people management.
