Summary

The Maintenance Technician covers 3 Leisure centres across Leeds on a 4 day rolling shift pattern. The pattern alternates between these sites as needed, the sites are located in Morley, Armley and Holt Park, you will have a main site but be required to spend some time at the other locations for cover as needed.

The Maintenance Technician is an essential role in keeping the centre running, as such your technical skill base will become enhanced, candidates from existing maintenance roles would be welcome to apply. A main part of this role will involve maintaining pool water and plant management, so previous experience is preferred but transferrable skills are also beneficial and you will be given national pool plant operator training. You should be physically fit as the role does involve some manual handling, working at heights and in confined spaces as permitted only.

Your typical day may involve: Being part of the opening up, daily walk around check and closing routine. Carrying out the daily pool water checks and associated maintenance tasks Carrying out site inductions and safe management of contractors Liaising with Council teams to plan and manage requests and work Daily management of your tasks on the CAFM system Assessing reported tasks and completing if in your skillset and safe to do so or obtaining support from colleagues or contractors to complete tasks Supporting your management team and colleagues on site as required, this could involve some cleaning and janitorial activites including site litter picking where required Participate in call out rotas if applicable

The typical reactive jobs could range from minor wall filling and decorating, fault finding and repairing leaks and associated plumbing, lamp changing (post assessment), tile grouting, silicone sealing, fixing items to walls etc. This is in addition to specific Pool Plant Management activities.

The working pattern will be a rolling 4 day pattern working a 10 hour shift. The typical working shifts will be 6am to 4pm and 12pm to 10pm with varying (earlier finish) times on some weekends.

What we are looking for: The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Pool plant management and general FM,building maintenance experience, you should be enthusiastic to help find solutions to issues and willing to learn new skills and undergo training as required. Health and Safety knowledge is a must but training will be provided.Experience of building maintenance, handyperson or janitorial duties. Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a building environment. Demonstrate self management and drive completion of tasks down each month Confident, pro-active and good time management Able and wanting to do the job right and do it right first time, within a pre-determined timescale. Willingness to undertake further training. Ability to provide a schedule of works for identified additional/remedial works. Writing and following risk and method statements as required on a daily basis.Good knowledge of building Statutory Compliance. Ability to record work accurately on work sheets and computer based systems. Good communication skills and the ability to work within a team. Wanting to achieve success, for yourself, the business and the customer. Flexible approach to work and working hours (subject to the EU Working Time Directive). Presented in a clean and tidy manner to represent the company, in the most professional manner possible, utilising the uniform and PPE issued. HSE management in accordance with our Quality Management System and all legal and statutory requirements. Provide excellent customer service to building occupants, ensuring they are made aware of work order progress in a timely manner. Must be able to travel to sites / be available for oncall, full UK Driving license and own transport is preferred.
