Summary


Are you an experienced Anaesthetic Nurse / ODP who is looking for your next role? Would you like to improve patient outcomes through promoting and maintaining a high standards within theatres.

An exciting opportunity has risen for the Team Leader role in Anaesthetics within theatres at our Southend site.

In this role, you would get the opportunity to work closely with the Theatre Manager on both the management and development of our brilliant team.

To organise and lead an operating session competently demonstrating excellent communication skills.

Ability to work autonomously in satellite areas.

Undertake Floor person / Theatre Coordinator role as required.

Participate in Team Leader On call Rota.

Facilitate the clinical and career development of staff members within the ODP team, liaising with the Theatre Training team to establish individual development plans and individual training plans for all team members through the formal Trust appraisal system.

To establish and maintain a high profile within the multi-disciplinary team.

Develop a cooperative working relationship with hospital staff working in areas of the speciality outside of the theatre e.g. Clinics, Wards, CSSD etc.

To deputise for delegated tasks as deemed appropriate by the Theatre manager.

Ensure the accurate compilation of duty rotas to establish an appropriate deployment of manpower.

Taking the lead for ensuring that the clinical needs of the Elective and out of hours services are met.

Work with the Theatre Manager and Matron to ensure effective utilisation of all theatre staff

Ensure junior team members receive regular appraisals.

Maintain accurate and legible records of patient care and supervises others in line with NMC/HCPC code of professional conduct and local and Trust policies.

Facilitate a positive working environment.

Act as a role model at all times.
