Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Surgical Wards at Stoke Mandeville Hospital for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Practice Development Nurse. This post is ideal for an experienced Band 5 or a Band 6 Registered Nurse who has a strong interest in promoting a high standard of clinical skills and competency and has a passion for education and support of all health care professionals.

You will be supporting staff across all AFC bands, enabling them to achieve their potential and guiding them to deliver high quality, safe and effective care at all times.



Please see attached job description for full list of duties and responsibilities, these will include:-
• Working closely and collaboratively with Ward Managers to identify areas for training, education and support within their individual areas and across the surgical wards
• Supporting new members of staff to the surgical wards to complete their competencies and clinical skills necessary to help them deliver safe and effective care
• Looking at audit results and then preparing ward based teaching sessions to support staff with learning that is relevant to their specific areas
• Supporting areas clinically on occasions when necessary to ensure safety of patients and staff
