An exciting opportunity to join our dedicated paediatric ED as Band 7, Department Manager.

The post is based at the Emergency Department at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, highly skilled nurse with at least 2 years band 6 experience in an acute paediatric setting. You must be organised, an excellent communicator, work well as part of the team and also capable of managing your own time.



The successful applicant will manage the Paediatric area of ED to ensure safe staffing, co-ordination and practice at all times, whilst promoting the Trust’s Vision and Values within self and others. To lead on and ensure all training needs of the staff within the Paediatric area of ED are met, coordinated, and maintained within policies and standards to promote high quality care. You lead by example providing robust evidence supporting the CQC 5 domains. You will also be responsible for the ED Housekeeping team. In addition, you will be required to provide support to the adult management team for completing audits.

Our department covers and provides a service to a population of approximately 450,000

residents, increased during our busy holiday seasons.
