Summary

About the role

The Head of Agile is accountable for the development and implementation of consistent Agile principles, methods and tools. In addition to culture/ attitude across the Group where Agile ways of working exist within the organisation!

They manage a team that focus on the \'what\' and the \'how\'!

Agile Managers who focus on the \'what\' (standards, methodology & tools), as well as the team of Agile Coaches who focus on the \'how\' (bringing theory to life with teams, coaching Squad & CoE leadership and focus on building & sustaining an Agile culture/attitude within the organisation). With a strong background in Agile, you will focus on strategy whilst supporting the team you lead to deliver the what and how across the organisation.

You will be responsible for

  • Building, leading & running the Agile Centre of Excellence team to service the Group Technology and Online functions. Developing a blueprint and community of Agile practice for the Tesco Group across a wide range of functions, portfolios, products & services; where Agile ways of working exist.
  • Building & leading a successful Agile coaching, process & delivery team who own Agile methodology for Tesco, crafting consistency & simplicity for leaders, colleagues and teams.
  • Working with senior stakeholders & third parties to deliver & drive forward Agile transformations at an organisation level across the Group. Working with leadership to ensure QBRs are clearly set and the Agile processes are optimised at all times.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert within the field of Agile process & methodology across the Group. Managing Agile third party suppliers, ensuring resources are managed effectively & in line with contractual obligation, including budget responsibility.
  • Tracking & reporting of OKRs related to Agile and reporting these to the wider business, surfacing opportunities for improvement on process/methodology/coaching interventions required.

You will need

  • A deep knowledge of and leads on a range of Agile & Lean tools & techniques, within the ability to mentor within and outside of their team.
  • Able to represent and be an advocate for these tools, techniques, be innovative & ensure they keep up to date with the latest trends.
  • Ability to ensure situational awareness - what others in teams are working on, to improve working across & supporting the broader organisation.
  • Stakeholder management & communication to keep all key collaborators aligned on plans

Experience relevant for this job:

  • Previous experience of working in a large, sophisticated digital organisation or proven understanding of large digital organisations.
  • Working with other Agile delivery operations throughout the product life cycle.
  • Leading an Agile transformation within an organisation is crucial
