Summary


In collaboration with them and the surgical team the post holder will plan and implement clinical care of Colorectal Pelvic and IBD patients by undertaking advanced patient assessment, intervention and treatment. The post holder will work across divisional and professional boundaries, encouraging inter-disciplinary working for the benefit of improved patient outcomes and efficient use of resources. They will demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise, providing specialist advice, education and support to other health care professionals and patients. The post holder will be a non-medical independent prescriber with extensive experience of the role at Band 7 level.

The post holder will be working within the Surgery and Cancer Division. It is expected that the post holder will be an integral member of the clinical team and be able to interact confidently with senior medical and nursing colleagues ward staff and allied health professionals.

Work in collaboration with the multi-professional team develop and adhere to a shared vision of the service ensuring trust values are maintained and promoted.

Act as a role model and resource in expert clinical evidence-based practice

Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop effective documentation, pathways, protocols and guidelines for care. Demonstrate a commitment to share expertise and disseminate information.

Participate in implementing national standards and frameworks at a local/trust level.

Network locally, regionally, nationally and internationally and seek opportunities to develop the advanced surgical nurse practitioner role

Use effective change management skills to initiate and implement service and practice development within Colorectal Pelvic Health and IBD , making the best use of resources to improve practice and health outcomes.

Maintain involvement and active input in multi-professional meetings and appropriate local bodies / forums to contribute to practice and service development
