Summary


We are delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, self motivated Podiatrist looking to progress their career in Musculoskeletal Podiatry. Salford Care Organisation which is part of the Northern Care Alliance covers both acute and community sites. We have a NICE compliant MDT and excellent relations with support services in the hospital, including Rheumatology, Orthopaedics, Vascular and Radiology.

We are seeking an experienced MSK Podiatrist to provide expert clinical practice in theadvanced assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients with a range of musculoskeletal conditions. Part of the role will be to provide expert advice in the offloading of the high risk foot.

Our Podiatry department has a strong, enthusiastic and dedicated team of clinicians whose work ethic is exemplary. Strong leadership skills will be required to help drive the service forward to enable us to continually improve the service we provide.
• To assist in the planning and development, co-ordination, delivery and evaluation for the Musculoskeletal service (MSK) within the Podiatry service . This will include some Clinical Leadership for the MSK team.
• The post holder will be responsible for taking a lead in assessment, treatment, prescription and adaptation of orthotic and offloading devices with tailored exercise programmes to maintain mobility, viability, independence and relive pain.
• The post holder will work autonomously, planning and managing their own caseload, which will include providing specialist care for patients with high-risk foot conditions with multiple co-morbidities.
• To act as a source of expertise in the management of complex foot problems and provide advice to patients, carers, podiatrists, GPs and other health and social care professionals.
• To assist the Consultant Podiatrist in research activities, audit and evaluation of clinical practice in relation to the management of high-risk podiatry. This will involve collaboration with local, regional and national research programmes.
• To educate, train, and provide mentorship and clinical supervision to podiatrists, students, health care professionals and others in the management of complex foot conditions.
