Summary
Provide Education are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant for a Special Alternative Education Provision in Huddersfield, Kirklees.
This school supports secondary aged school children across KS3 and KS4 who have been identified as having Social, Emotional and Mental Health(SEMH) needs and associated challenging behaviours. Some of the young people may also have been diagnosed with a range of other complex learning needs including ASD, ADHD and Moderate Learning Difficulties. The school support their students based on their individual needs. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working with children or young people with SEMH .
As a Teaching Assistant, you may also engage in Outreach work in the community with the school's young people
Ideally you will have up to date Level 2 Team Teach training, although this can be provided by our inhouse trainers.
The role of Teaching Assistant includes:
- Assisting the Class Teacher with young people and their learning/wellbeing
- Acting as a positive adult and role model
- Supporting students and providing a safe, friendly and stimulating environment to learn in
- Understand and follow individual Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs)
