Teaching Personnel are recruiting several members of staff for a large and thriving ASD Base based in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan. The provision is looking to take on several new Teaching Assistants for the 2024/2025 academic year.



Role Details & Responsibilities:

Staff within the provision are looking for compassionate, patient, and driven members of staff to work on a 1-2-1 and small group basis with pupils aged 11 - 18. Day to day, your role will be varied and rewarding including:
- Supporting pupils with a range of Additional Needs within the specialised base environment.
- Working in small group settings and on a 1:1 basis and developing positive relationships with the pupils you support.
- Offering emotional and behavioural support using a range of classroom-based and outdoor learning techniques.
- Working with the existing team of Teaching Assistants and Teachers to develop, review and implement pupils' individual learning plans.
- Deliver a mix of mainstream and alternative provision learning, using a range of sports, arts, kitchen, and animal care facilities to encourage positive engagement with learning.



An Enhanced DBS Certificate (Child Only) and EWC Registration will be required before beginning this role. Support will be provided for those who don't already hold these.
