Gi group are proud to be working in partnership with a well-known food manufacturing company, who are one of the most well-known manufacturers in the UK, the company in question are looking for a Maintenance technician (Mech bias).

Job Role:
As a Maintenance technician (Mech bias), you will be tasked for rectifying mechanical faults on machinery and plant equipment as well as carrying out minor maintenance for all equipment on site, which will be planned maintenance and asset care. Maintaining a range of specialist machinery and equipment throughout our factory site and following food safety and hygiene procedures.

Typical Duties will involve:

  • Organising, setting up and monitoring machinery
  • Rectify mechanical faults to machinery, plant, and equipment, carry out alterations.
  • Lead process improvements and CI improvements
  • The accurate and timely completion of necessary documentation.
  • Assist to install plant and equipment where required.
  • Manage the SOP writing programme.
  • Use computer aided maintenance management system as and when required.
  • Audit inspections of equipment integrity on a daily basis
  • Maintenance following fabric/safety inspections.

Desirable experience

  • A relevant engineering apprenticeship
  • Relevant H&S qualifications
  • Must be experienced in a manufacturing environment, FMCG experience would be advantageous but not essential.
  • The ability to read advanced electrical / mechanical drawings on new machinery.
