Summary

We are recruiting a Principal Contract Management Officer at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 37 hours – 7.4 Hours Monday – Friday. These hours can be worked flexibly across service operating hours and depending on service requirements. If you require further information on the available hours, please contact the recruiting manager using the details provided below.

Location: Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Procurement and Information Services Team.

We pay an attractive salary of £40,221 - £43,421 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

You will become part of a dynamic team that sets the Procurement direction for a leading Council with 600 services. This varied and high-profile role will develop and implement corporate and service area specific strategies and initiatives to deliver an effective and efficient service across the Council and for our citizens.

The post holder will have an active role in developing and implementing robust and sustainable contracts management methodologies within the Council. They will assist in the effective and efficient delivery of national and Council objectives and initiatives, while also supporting the Contracts Management Support Service Manager in building and maintaining key relationships with stakeholders to continuously improve the service and help:

Develop processes, procedures, and policies in relation to commercial capability and contract management.
Standardise the capability and skills needed across the Council in relation to commercial capability and contract management via training programmes.
Working with staff across the Council identifying commercial risks and recommending measures to mitigate and manage those risks.
Inform the evolving needs/requirements of key contracting service areas in accordance with national strategies and policies.
Assist with the establishment of “expert” teams within key contracting service areas to develop category specialisms, fit for purpose terms and conditions, contract management methodologies, and develop market intelligence strategies and approaches.
Generate positive communication channels with internal and external stakeholders that support the Council’s objectives and initiatives.
Develop streamlined and consistent approach to data analytics for dissemination to internal and external stakeholders.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with regulatory bodies and external organisations.

For the role, we ask that you have:

A relevant Level 4 qualification, for example, Contract Management, Level 4 ILM.
Experience of Contract Management and gaining insight from a range of stakeholders.
The ability to travel around the County Borough.
