Summary

We are looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our team in Abernethy! The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring there is sufficient stock of raw material within our Fresh potato factory, whilst maintaining good working relationships with our growers.

We are currently at an exciting & innovate time within the business, with new automation installed & plans to expand our product range.

Examples of day to day duties will include;

Develop and maintain regular contact with Branston grower group members and promote the key values and expectations of the business.
Control purchase prices of raw material, ensuring the factory has sufficient stock at all times & customer orders can be met.
Ensure weekly payments are completed within agreed timescales.
Assist with monthly store wash ups and quality reporting, escalating any issues to relevant parties.
Work closely with those responsible for quality, production and planning to maintain ensure smooth operations & processes are adhered to.
To advise and offer supply of certified seed to contracted growers.
Deputise for the Procurement manager as and when required.

Do you offer?

Previous experience within a procurement/ agronomy role
Excellent communication and numeracy skills
Full valid UK driving license
The ability to work on own initiative and make effective decisions
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Experience within fresh produce or agricultural industry would be advantageous but not essential.
