Summary

This is an immersive opportunity for someone to gain skills in undertaking practical conservation and land management work.

Become the ‘Nature Reserves Trainee’ as part of the ‘Lower Ribble Landscape Recovery Project’ and immerse yourself in everything it takes to run the land management of a busy and diverse nature reserve, with woodlands, wetlands, meadows and more. You will primarily based at Brockholes, Preston, but will also have opportunities to visit and work at other reserves and green spaces in the catchment.

Assisting experienced reserve staff you will learn practical skills for habitat and infrastructure upkeep, general project management skills, volunteer supervision, compilation and delivery of risk assessments, tool use and botany and wildlife survey skills. You will need a natural aptitude for practical work and problem solving, plus a positive ‘can do’ attitude.

Salary: National minimum wage
