Job Details

  • Support all elements of the SQL Server data platforms as well as the Analytics (Snowflake) data platform
  • Accountable for the design, implementation, capacity assessment and planning of all SQL and Snowflake environments applying an automation first approach to all tasks to avoid manual processes.
  • Accountable for the on-going assessment of database performance and the identification of problem areas, security requirements and disaster recovery point objectives to maintain stable performance of the production systems.
  • Work with vendors in evaluating and implementing new technologies to improve performance and remain cost efficient.
  • Interact with the other departments to understand and identify data needs and requirements and work to deliver database and reporting solutions to address those needs.
  • Monitor performance of databases and reporting systems throughout the company and provide on-going performance tuning and administrative duties required to ensure applications and databases are performing efficiently.


Skills we would love you to have

  • Extensive experience of managing enterprise levels technical service delivery standards within a medium to large sized organisation
  • hands-on experience working with SQL database technologies, architectures; including both logical and physical designs, ETL tools, loaders and development and reporting tools
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and above experience, including Database Administration, Database Tuning, Database
  • excellent working knowledge of MS SQL HA technologies, E.G. AlwaysOn and Windows Failover Clustering.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure with database technologies - AVS, Azure Native VM, Azure DB, Managed Instance, Azure Data Factory and Cosmos DB.
  • Knowledge of optimisation techniques and efficiency best practice across Snowflake
  • Knowledge of integration techniques between Snowflake and tools (ETL tools / reporting tools)
