Summary

A warm and supportive Catholic school in Barnet, North London, is looking for a learning support assistant for a September start. As a learning support assistant, you will be a crucial support for our students throughout their educational journey. You will also work closely with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to support them within a mainstream learning environment. Learning support assistants are an integral part of our team, working on a 1-1 and small group basis with students who need additional support, across varying year groups and departments. We are looking for warm and empathetic individuals who are flexible and proactive. A desire to support young people is the most important thing for a Learning Support Assistant, but it would be beneficial to have some experience of working with secondary aged children (11-16).

Role: Learning Support Assistant

Location: Barnet

Start Date: September

Position: Full-Time, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students.
- Work closely to support students with a range of special educational needs (SEN)
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized learning plans.
- Support classroom activities and help create an inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
- Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere for all students.

Qualifications:
- A passion for education and a commitment to student success.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Being proactive and easily adaptable
- Experience working with children in some capacity (formal or informal)
- An enhanced DBS on the Online Update Service (or be willing to get one)
