Position: Science Teacher (SEMH Provision, KS3 & KS4)

Location: Reading

Salary: Up to UPS 3 plus SEN allowance

Are you a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher looking for a rewarding role within a supportive and dynamic team? Engage Education is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) provision for Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated Science lessons to KS3 and KS4 students within the SEMH provision.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SEN team.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and success.
- Utilise effective de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviours and maintain a safe learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support the holistic development of students, including their social and emotional well-being.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching Science at the secondary level.
- Strong understanding of SEMH needs and experience working within an SEMH provision.
- Proficiency in de-escalation techniques and strategies to manage challenging behaviours.
- Additional qualifications or training in Team Teach, Attention Autism, or other relevant de-escalation methods.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
