Summary

Job Description

This is a term time post and the salary will be pro rata to the number of hours worked.

A vacancy has arisen for a Catering Manager in St Peter the Apostle High School. The post holder will be responsible to manage a cluster of premises within their designated area. Duties will include the supervision of staff, development and training. To ensure food preparation and service of food is in compliance with the Nutritional requirements for Food and Drinks in schools (Scotland) regulations 2008, and other relevant legislation as required. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that equipment is cleaned, checked and maintained, all Health and Safety guidelines are followed, all relevant paper work is completed and recorded, and the collection and reconciliation of West Dunbartonshire Council Catering income.

The post holder requires to hold REHIS Food & Nutrition and REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene Certificates. They will adhere to Food Safety Systems, Safe Systems of Work and Health and Safety legislation. A knowledge of such legislations would be an advantage, as would holding City & Guilds 706/1&2 or equivalent qualification.

Requirements

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.

Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.

Responsibilities
