About the Role
You'll be responsible for the following
· They will support the SENCO with keeping all aspects of paperwork, including reports, records and policies up to date and actioned as appropriate.
· The Assistant SENCO will work with teachers and pupils across the school and model effective teaching learning.
· The Post holder will coach and train colleagues and support all staff in understanding the needs of pupils with SEN and those entitled to pupil premium.
· The postholderwill help develop and promote plans to ensure the needs of pupil premium pupils and pupils with SEN and/or disabilities are met and that they are reflected in the school improvement plan.
· They will assist and take a lead on regularly monitor progress of pupil premium pupils and pupils with SEN/or disabilities and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching pupils to guide future improvements.
· The postholder will liase with staff, parents, external agencies and other schools to provide maximum support and ensure continuity of educational provision for pupils with SEN.
· They will develop partnerships with parents to ensure that their views are considered and acted upon appropriately.
· They will ensure that pupils with SEN and/or disabilities are enabled to share their views and that these are acted upon appropriately.
· The postholder shall contribute to ensuring good behaviour and discipline is maintained supporting staff in the implementation of appropriate policies and procedures.
· He/she shall contribute to a positive ethos, actively promoting the values and achievements of the school.CPA is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable learners, all positions are subject to enhanced DBS checks and references.
