Summary

Teaching Assistant
GLPC Grade C - £22,369 - £23,045
Full Time - 35 hours per week term time only plus INSET days
This equates to 8.15am – 3.45pm with 30 minutes lunchbreak - (non-negotiable)
Required from September 2024.Fixed term contract until August 2025, likely to extend

We are looking for an outstanding Teaching Assistant to join our creative and dedicated team. This special person will be required to support the progress and attainment of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities at our school. The role is to support the delivery of the provision outlined in each child’s Education Health and Care or SEND Support plan. The position will most likely be working within Key Stage 1 or 2 but could include work in Early Years. Good skills in English and Maths are paramount.Please note that our minimum requirement is GCSE A-C in English and Mathematics or equivalent; your application will not be considered without these qualifications.
Our Teaching Assistants are ambitious and often move on to complete PGCEs or take other routes into teaching. This role provides excellent work experience for candidates interested in child psychology.
All our TAs also provide support to pupils across break and lunchtimes. This requires the ability to work with all groups of children between the ages of 3 and 11 years old, along with a need to be kind, outgoing and creative. The role includes working both in the lunch hall with children and organising games and activities in the playground. You should be first aid trained or willing to attain that qualification. Enthusiasm is a must!
