Summary

A Vacancy at Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust.

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified healthcare professional (nursing or AHP/HCPC registered) to play a crucial role in our supportive Lymphoedema Service. You will provide both specialist and generalist programmes of care to patients with Lymphoedema. Whilst previous experience within Lymphoedema would be a distinct advantage it is not essential, as you will be expected to complete the Post-Graduate Certificate/Diploma in Lymphoedema Management within this role.

The Lymphoedema clinic is based at Skegness hospital, and whilst there is expectation for the post holder to work primarily from this location, we are very keen to receive applications from different areas of the county as we look to deliver the service from different locations in Lincolnshire going forward. There is a requirement to work from the clinic in Skegness until fully trained. This is truly an exciting time to join the service as we are hoping to secure additional funding to expand the service.

As a practitioner within Lymphoedema, you will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deliver specialist care to patients with Lymphoedema. You will ensure that patients and carers receive patient centred and clinically effective care. You will also provide support, advice and education for patients, carers and healthcare professionals across the healthcare community. Furthermore, you will act as a local resource in all matters relating to Lymphoedema care and service delivery. You will work closely with the Macmillan Clinical Specialist - Lymphoedema (Band 7) to develop the service to become effective, equitable and sustainable for the future. You will gain experience and exposure to a wide range of non-clinical duties, such as, assisting the Band 7 in staff management, performance reporting, implementing NICE guidelines and policies and stakeholder management with internal colleagues and external partners.

The Lymphoedema service provides specialist input for patients with Lymphoedema across Lincolnshire with approximately 45% of the caseload being cancer patients. The team currently consists of two Lymphoedema practitioners and an assistant, and we are hopeful to secure additional funding to expand the service. The team benefits from access to a specialist Lymphoedema team at a tertiary centre and also receives dedicated training and support from external partners.
