Summary

In this role, some of your key responsibilities will be: To deputise in the absence of the Ward Manager and maintain aspects of environmental checks and audits. Support in leading in Quality Improvement Projects with the ward. To use a values based approach to use kind words, with a safe space and a listening ear to deliver care which is Safe, Caring and Excellent. Maintain a sound working knowledge of the legislation, policy and guidance necessary to care effectively for people with learning disabilities. Work within the law and take responsibility for fulfilling the practitioners roles and responsibilities under specific legislation, policy and procedures, e.g. the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Safeguarding of adults and children. Demonstrate skill in inclusive and collaborative practice with patients and their families/ friends/carers to encourage and support active involvement in their own care and support plans Demonstrate knowledge and skill in using Positive Behaviour Support across all aspects of care. Respond to the needs of people sensitively with regard for age, culture, race, gender, ethnicity, social class and disability to optimise the helping relationship. A full trust induction and local induction will be provided. It is mandatory for you to complete Management of Violence and Aggression Training, PEACE Training and other training directly related to the role. We'll need you to work a rotating shift pattern to include cover of early, late and night shifts for our 24 hour, 7 day a week service. We do not offer a long day or fixed night working pattern in this service.
