Summary


The Central Podiatry Team is looking to employ a motivated and enthusiastic clinician to come join the Team.

The post holder will work as part of a highly motivated podiatry team. You will be providing high quality treatments for patients referred into the service for assessment and intervention. You will be expected to take responsibility for the assessment and treatment of a caseload of patients which includes complex cases, as an autonomous practitioner with appropriate supervision, evidencing high level problem solving and reasoning skills and independence of judgment.

Post holders will be responsible for the delivery evaluation and discharge of patients , routine podiatry, wound care ,nail surgery and biomechanical work for patients’ in their own homes or other community locations. Provide direct line management for smaller clusters of staff within teams and to support the development of podiatrists and assistants via knowledge sharing and supervision to ensure competency within the podiatry workforce

The post holder will be expected to promote health and reduce inequalities for individuals, families and communities, optimise opportunities for health promotion and health education to enable patients to maximise their potential in terms of health and social well-being. Using motivational interviewing and negotiation skills where appropriate and to make referrals as appropriate into the behaviour change support services e.g. Stop Smoking and Weight Management Programmes.



To undertake comprehensive podiatry assessment of patients with complex presentations, using investigative and analytical skills, to formulate an appropriate hypothesis and to determine a diagnosis.

To establish individualised management and treatment plans, using clinical reasoning and utilising a wide range of evidence based treatment skills and options to formulate highly specialised interventions and programmes of care, which may include working with staff across organisational boundaries

To work as part of the podiatry team and be responsible for assessment and management of a clinical caseload of patients with complex and/or additional podiatric needs.









Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
