We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, innovative and highly motivated band 7 to join our Surgical governance team working within the Elective Orthopedic centre

You will be a key member of our small team working within a friendly and supportive team who are committed to your professional development and the development of the governance team.

The Elective Orthopedic Center Governance Facilitator will be responsible for enabling high quality delivery of duty of candour and investigation practice to national and local expectations.

The post holder will mainly work within the Elective Orthopedic Center but will support the Divisional Risk and Governance Lead, as required. They will support the Elective Orthopedic centre with ensuring that the care provided across the Division is always of a high quality, promotes the safety of patients and contributes to a positive patient experience.

The post holder will support implementation of strategy and guidance to improve the safety for, and experience of patients. The post holder will provide expertise and work closely with clinical teams to ensure that best practice is aligned across the Division and lessons learnt are embedded and shared.

The post holder will lead on the management of investigations undertaken by the Elective Orthopedic Centre and the surgical Division through the Patient safety Incident Framework process within the Trust. This will include, support to investigation panels, ensuring that duty of candour complies with legislative requirements whilst ensuring that patients and their families are supported and kept involved in the investigation process.

They will participate in the improvement of divisional investigation practice by coaching investigators to deliver root cause analyses and complaints investigations within expected timelines and ensuring that investigation practice aligns with national best practice. Finally, the post holder will participate in developing mechanisms within the division to share lessons learned from complaints and incidents effectively.
