Summary

Acorn by Synergie is currently recruiting on behalf of their client for a Laboratory Technician for a 12 month contract at a Nickel Refinery in Clydach, Swansea.

The Mond Nickel Refinery, owned & operated by Vale Europe recently celebrated 120 years of production, and is one of the world's leading Nickel refineries. Vale are globally one of the world's largest mining companies, with operations in the UK, Asia, the USA and across Europe.



Key accountabilities for the role include:

* Ensuring that all activities comply with Refinery and regulatory EH & S requirements.
* Analysing product and process samples and recording analytical results in laboratory workbooks and Refinery database as prescribed by standard procedures.
* Operating laboratory equipment and standardising instruments prior to analysis.
* Perform routine maintenance on analytical instruments.


To apply for the position, individuals must have a Chemistry (or Chemistry related) degree. It is also preferred if the candidate has previous QA laboratory experience.

The ability to work safely, have a flexible approach towards work along with the ability to work as part of a team and as an individual will be a requirement for this role.

The ideal candidate will also have a strong desire to contribute to the on-going Continuous Improvement efforts that have been deployed in the Laboratory Area over recent years.
