Summary


We welcome applications for a Ward Clerk to support our theatre activity at Orsett Hospital to join our friendly, welcoming team.

To be responsible for the clerical activities which support the efficient functioning of the ward. We have high standards of professional behaviour that you will be expected to maintain. Good communication and team working skills are essential to this position.

The role will be based at Orsett but will include supporting our Ward Clerk team across MSE, including Broomfield and Southend.

This contract will come to an end on 31st March 2025.

Maintain ward list throughout shift and update relevant systems.

Confirm patient demographics are correct and update systems if required.

Ensure all VTE’s have been completed and entered on all relevant systems.

Prepare notes for all areas.

Print wristbands.

To photocopy any information or documents requested by staff. This may include the photocopying of notes for appointments or transfer to other hospitals.

To liaise with the relevant people regarding any amendments to ward data.

To prepare stationary requisition and arrange collection and storage.

Ensure records are up to date.

Book post operative follow ups, as required.

Support other ward clerks across the MSE which may involve cross site travel in times of staff shortages, sickness etc

Any other duties relevant to the post.
