Summary
With your strategic desire to dig deep into the detail, our opportunity as Planning General Manager offers you the perfect blend of strategy, delivery and execution across our customer network. You will be leading operational excellence and best-in-class Paragon planning for our network.
This is a pivotal leadership role to our success, you’ll be getting stuck in with sharing your SME Paragon and planning knowledge, through partnership and coaching, helping us deliver a culture of continuous improvement. You’ll be taking ownership for the day to day planning management, ensuring our fleets are in line with forecasted volumes and lead times, ensuring the delivery of our customer proposition in the most cost-efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic planning (via Paragon with ownership of a central planning budget of circa £3.5m.
- Leadership, development and direction for our colleagues, whilst sharing your SME Paragon planning experience.
- Customer engagement through delivery, strategy and implementation, along with reporting and providing MI reports/information to achieve this.
- Build Paragon planning strategy to achieve long-term best in class objectives, with continuous improvements to identify/highlight areas of opportunity to reduce fleet, costs and improve service.
- Develop and present business performance reports, trends and insight to fleet efficiencies, along with utilisation and conformance to the plan (including financials, KPIS metrics and opportunities).
- Lead the transport operations on capacity vs requirements, leading discussions with the leadership team on tactics to address impacts, opportunities, issues and challenges.

- Business strategy focused, agile thinking with a collaborative approach.
- Proven leadership experience specialising in planning and working in Paragon, at a Network, General Manager or Multi-Site level.
- Strong presenting, reporting and communicating skills to deliver to our senior leadership stakeholders.
- Proactive can-do attitude, with the ability to form strong working relationships at all levels, bringing your team on our journey with development and succession planning.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, to ‘connect the dots’ and approach issue resolution with a ‘forward-looking’ view to anticipate and address problems.
