Summary

2BM Recruitment Ltd have been engaged by a leading worldwide steel manufacturer and heavy engineering client to recruit for a Mechanical Shift Engineer / Fitter for their Sheffield based site on a permanent contract. As a key member of the maintenance team, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring the smooth operation of the plant. Your main responsibilities will include:
• Carrying out mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and process work, both planned and unplanned.
• Collaborating with fellow technicians as part of a multifunctional maintenance team, working efficiently across shifts.
• Prioritising workload in coordination with Shift Engineers to maximize plant availability.
• Assisting in preventive maintenance activities to keep operations running smoothly.
• Responding to maintenance requirements promptly, ensuring safe and effective resolution of issues.
• Utilising the CMMS effectively to streamline shift operations.
• Generating detailed engineering reports, providing critical insights into shift activities.

As a Maintenance Engineer / Fitter, you will be qualified to ONC level or be able to demonstrate significant mechanical experience in heavy engineering, as well as:
• Show a keen awareness and understanding of heavy engineering processes.
• Showcase exceptional practical mechanical skills, essential for hands-on maintenance tasks.
• Excel in communication, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with team members.
• Demonstrate strong prioritisation skills, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
