Summary

Ideal Recruit is seeking a dedicated and skilled Workshop Service Technician to join our esteemed client in the Holbeck area of Leeds. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with excellent benefits and the chance to enhance your technical skills.
Location: Holbeck, Leeds

Pay Rate: £14 per hour

Working Hours:

    • Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:00
    • Friday: 07:30 – 15:00
    • Lunch: 30 mins

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Receive, clean, strip, and assess the condition of all manufacturers’ actuators and gearboxes.
    • Create a detailed report listing necessary labor and materials for repairs or overhauls and prepare quotations based on these results.
    • Collect actuators for repair from local customers.
    • Perform repairs and overhauls, and test units on the workshop test rig before issuing new test certificates.
    • Factory fit valves/actuators.
    • Report the status of devices requiring calibration to the Operations Manager.
    • Maintain the work area to ensure efficiency, safety, and traceability.
    • Complete and submit all relevant documentation in a timely manner.
    • Ensure customer satisfaction through professional and efficient service.
    • Assist in developing the skill levels of other craftsmen and apprentices, fostering a positive team spirit.
    • Embrace and apply the company’s continuous improvement philosophy.
    • Perform any other duties reasonably associated with this role.

    Candidate Specification:

    Functional/Technical Competences:

    • Technical qualification and/or relevant knowledge of valves, actuators, and digital control systems.
    • Technical knowledge acquired through a recognized electrical/mechanical engineering qualification/apprenticeship or proven experience in a similar technical role.
    • Good understanding of basic electronics/electrical theories.
    • Experience in a practical engineering environment.
    • Ability to read and understand electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
    • Demonstrates an above-average mechanical and electrical aptitude.
    • Proficient in IT, particularly with service department software and Microsoft Office.
    • Awareness of the proper use of equipment and safe handling of electronic devices.
