Summary

Senior Care Assistant required

£11.84 and hour - full time - Days & Nights - 40 hour per week

Our client offers residential care to 43 residents and offers the perfect combination of care and independence.

Requirements:

• NVQ 2 Preferably 3
• Medication training
• To assist the Manager in ensuring care records are maintained appropriately, to include completing, observing, reviewing and updating person centred care plans ensuring that residents receive the best care appropriate to their needs.
• To participate in resident’s formal care review meetings as required.
• To supervise staff monitoring their performance to ensure the required standards are maintained
• Respond to requests from residents either by staff alert or other means of communication in a positive, polite and helpful manner
• To act appropriately in response to any changes in a resident’s health status.
• To liaise with residents’ relatives/representatives and/or agencies as required.
• To ensure by direct involvement and support of other staff that resident care is implemented in accordance with the residents’ care needs and through reference to their care plan.
• To administer and supervise medication to residents in accordance with the Home’s policies and procedures.
• To contribute to the development of the care practices and the home as a whole.
• Participate in the training of care staff.
• To maintain and develop their own skills and knowledge.
• Maintain confidentiality
• Contribute to meeting the individual, social and recreational needs of residents
• Assist in ensuring resources are used effectively.
• To report any incidents, occurrences or complaints to the Manager and record appropriately
• As requested undertake pre-admission assessments of prospective residents and as appropriate arrange their admission
• To attend staff meetings.
• To support the running of a shift taking direction from the Manager, organising and deploying staff on duty to ensure effective delivery of care to residents, respecting them as individuals.
• Liaise with the Manager to ensure staff are deployed effectively.
• To attend supervision and appraisal meetings as required.
• To undertake other duties which may be required and which are applicable to the post.
