Job Description
This role is to join a busy fast paced water microbiology laboratory, to assist in the day to day preparation and analysis of Water Samples within the Laboratory in accordance with documented procedures.
This is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday 14:00 - 22:00. The training shift will be 10:00 - 18:00.
Preparation and analysis of water samples.
Ensure samples received are handled in accordance with documented procedures, including attention to temperature control, storage.
Knowledge of Laboratory Quality System in order to comply with the policies, procedures and associated documents.
Maintenance of accurate and systematic records as detailed in the quality procedures.
Work with the team to achieve daily targets, ensuring client turnaround time is met.
Report any anomalies or concerns direct to your team leader.
Work with the team on continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure client contact is conducted in a professional manner and any client queries are dealt with or notified to your team leader.
Uphold and maintain client and company confidentiality.
Comply with Health and Safety procedures keeping the working environment clean and tidy.
Maintenance of laboratory fittings and equipment as directed.
Undertake any other duties commensurate with the post as required
Qualifications
Maths, English, Chemistry or Biology at GCSE grade C or above, or equivalent.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Good laboratory skills and practices.
Enthusiasm, energy and a driven outlook.
